| Geographic information system (GIS) provides gathering, storage, processing, display and distribution of spatial data. GIS-software is the universal instrument, which is adapted due to needs and inquiries of the end user; adaptation may include applications development as well. All of that considerably expands the sphere of GIS-application like applied information systems, for solution of scientific and applied problems of analysis, estimation, forecast and management in the following spheres: government, military industry, security, ecological projects, public services, oil-and-gas industry, manufacture industry, communications, transport and logistics, mobile systems and educational establishments. Corporate systems are often created starting from small projects i.e. applied GIS used to solve short range of problems. Using such systems users begin to understand GIS possibilities and to plan implementation of more scaled system in order to increase system performance considering constant growing of data level. Due to Intergraph Corporation products it became possible to implement corporate GIS of such level. Considering the specific character and needs of the customer, there are the following capabilities of the system which is designed and developed based on Intergraph software: - fast and convenient automated creation of digital cards, possibility of required objects display from various DBMS (MS SQL, MS Access, Oracle, IBM DB2) for solution of various problems;
- various kinds of analysis, modeling and forecasting using standard software facilities;
- data gathering in real time mode;
- storage of great volumes of data; including external databases, work with the most widespread data storage formats: GIS-formats of Intergraph Corporation (MGE, MGE Segment Manager, FRAMME ™), as well as such formats as Arc/Info, ArcView, Oracle® SC, Microsoft Access®, Microsoft SQL Server®, Mapinfo®, AutoCad® DWG/DXF, MicroStation® and set of raster formats, both widely known and specialized;
- organization of removed access to data storehouse in client – server mode;
- client applications of various functionality for the solution of applied problems; as well as the possibility to make specialized applications .
